Closer ties with Ex Boomerang

RAAF Base Williamtown’s famous No. 77 Squadron has returned from Korat Air Force Base in Thailand having a better tactical knowledge and understanding of its northern neighbour’s flying capabilities.
The two countries participated in Exercise Thai Boomerang with elements of the Royal Thai Air Force.
No. 77 Squadron F/A-18 Hornets conducted air-to-air training with RTAF F-16, L-39 and Alpha-Jet aircraft.
Exercise Thai Boomerang is an important event in maintaining a strong relationship with Thailand through cooperative training and the transfer of air combat experience and knowledge.
A number of strike missions involving 16 aircraft were completed.
While in Korat, Williamtown personnel got a cultural education, visiting schoolchildren in the area whilst also donating sporting and educational equipment.
